Working Memory Test
How many positions can you hold in mind at once?
What it measures
Visual-spatial working memory, measured with a block-tapping task: repeat sequences of squares forward, then backward. You get the longest sequence you can reproduce.
How it works
- Squares on a 4×4 grid light up one at a time. When the sequence ends, tap them back.
- Part 1: tap them in the same order. Part 2: tap them in reverse order.
- Sequences get one square longer after each success. Two misses at the same length end the part.
- About 5 minutes. Find a quiet moment — you cannot pause in the middle of a sequence.
About your score
You get a forward and a backward span: the longest sequence you reproduced correctly. The percentile compares your forward span with published norms from a physical version of the task, so it is a rough, provisional estimate.
